Taqueria Los Altos: Authentic Mexican Dining Experience in Salinas

This is a little hole in the wall but surprisingly very good, the tile fin light haired waitress where is not very good even though she was nice not too attentive. The other waitress who is not our waitress came over and kept checking on everybody very nice very attentive made up for any shortage of waitressing on our part. The shrimp fajitas were very good what was amazing was how many shrimp was on the platter, we were very surprised on the generous portions of food at a very good price. This location is not the best for us but if we were in the area we would certainly come by again.

Excellent food, generous portions, and a great local vibe in Salinas. Had a great experience here. The food was excellent and the portions were generous — especially the large micheladas, which were properly made and definitely lived up to the name. The combination plate was also a standout: everything was well-cooked, flavorful, and satisfying, with a good variety on one plate. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to sit down and actually enjoy your meal. This feels like a spot locals know and appreciate for good reason. If you’re in Salinas and deciding where to eat, this place is absolutely worth stopping into. I’ll definitely be back.

We stopped here for dinner on a road trip. The food was decent. Nothing to write home about. The service was fairly quick and efficient. Prices were not too bad. We fed 4 people for under $100, with drinks.

Staff was excellent. The vibe was nice, an authentic family feel. The verde must’ve been a day old. But it was fine. Pretty salty. Over all my family had a really great time. Happy to see the mariachis.

Excellent amazing authentic Mexican food. When we came in there was a Mexican Mariachi band playing really nice corridos. The totopos and salsa was really good, the enchiladas and Chile rellenos tasted soo good. And to top it off their staff were super friendly and of assistance. Especially the waitress that served our table. One of the best restaurants I've eaten in California.

We've passed this restaurant many times, so much so it became an inside joke to say, "I'm gonna try that place sometime." If based on just food, it was amazing.... But the service left the experience, lacking. The younger dark haired waitress left us with a feeling that we put her out by coming to eat there. The more mature of the ladies, I'm guessing her supervisor or just better waitress came to check on us and make sure we didn't need anything. Other than that tho, the food was amazing and huge portions.

Place is awesome. Every dish was superb and delicious, the little side salad was nice. Service was fast, and the waitresses were vigilant and attentive. The band was playing all night, and the setting was very authentic. I'll definitely come back for the mocajete, that looked good. Chips n salsa were tasty as well.

Los Altos Restaurant provided an outstanding dining experience! I ordered the Fajitas Mixta with chicken, steak, and shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sizzling presentation made the meal even more enjoyable. The portions were generous, and the sides complemented the dish perfectly. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure I had everything I needed. The restaurant was clean, inviting, and had a great atmosphere. I highly recommend Los Altos for anyone looking for amazing food and top-notch service!
